     Cherry Tree Health Services, Inc. offers quality Christian care to eligible persons with developmental disabilities. The company is dedicated to enabling all individuals served to achieve their fullest potential in the least restrictive environment consistent with existing laws and regulations. Services are offered and delivered in a manner that respect and protect the human and civil rights of the individual, and recognize that individuals with developmental disabilities have the same right as other individuals. The staff is committed to assisting individuals in making choices that are meaningful to their lives. Encouragement is given to each individual to have a balanced life with community activities, support services, family participation, and an active spiritual life.

     Our Mission is to help those in need of our service to continue to work in the community and become as self sufficient as possible. Our goal is for a joining of community and support for our clientele.

Company History:

     In the mid 1980's Mike and Agnes Dent became interested in the care of individuals with developmental disabilities. This was a time when the state and federal governments came to believe these individuals should be moved from institutions (like state schools) into community small homes. Mike and Agnes Dent joined this effort and invited six ladies to move into their home as guest and extended family. This was the beginning of a labor of love that extends to this day. These individuals were trained to do everything the could to care for themselves. They were provided opportunities to attend church, workshops and many community activities. They enjoyed regional fairs, going to camp in the summer, and motor home trips to numerous state and national parks. They gave and attended parties, shopped, went to the show, and enjoyed family visits. Mike and Agnes considered this program and work as a most gratifying part of their life and continue to be closely involved with this ongoing method of care for individuals with developmental disabilities.

     Cherry Tree Health Service, Inc. is dedicated to providing Christian services for men and women with mental handicaps. We have been providing such services for over 20 years. This has been and still is a family operated company and we hope to continue this tradition.
